Hypothyroidism is the most common disorder with thyroid function.

It is known as myxedema. In this condition our body don't produce or utilization enough thyroxin in the body.A type of Hypothyroidism seen in children is known as Cretinism.

Hypothyroidism is thyroid hormone deficiency. It can be due to primary disease of the thyroid gland itself or to the lack of stimulation of the thyroid gland by the pituitary gland via the hormone TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone).

Hypothyroidism affects both men and women of all ages.

Another reason for this disease,the failure of thyroid gland to produce sufficient thyroid hormone.This condition is known as Primary Hypothyroid.

Central Hypothyroid may be due to diminished stimulation of the thyroid by thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) because of pituitary gland failure (secondary hypothyroid).

Hypothyroidism Symptoms :-

(1) He/She look puffy, expressionless, and pallid.

(2) Coldness and Dryness in Our Skin.

(3) Our Fingernails are Thickened and Brittle

(4) Subcutaneous Tissue appears to be thickened

(5) Our Speech became slow.

(6) Our Voice became low-pitched and husky.

(7) Depression, Poor Appetite,Hair loss, Heavy or drooping eyelids,Personality changes

(1) Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

(2) Treatments for hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)

(3) Thyroid tumors

(4) Radiation of the head or neck to treat cancer

(5) Hormonal imbalances that occur during menopause, premenopause, or postpartum.
